Gresham High School will offer 5 sessions of Drivers Ed throughout the 2012-2013 school year

Dates:

Session 1 has a mandatory parent meeting September 24th. Classes will start Wendesday September 26 and end approximately November 16th.  

Session 2 has a mandatory parent meeting on Tuesday January 22nd. Classes will start January 29th and end approximately March 15th.

Session 3 has a mandatory parent meeting on April 8th. Classes will start April 10th and end approximately May 30th.  This is slightly different than the student planner/calendar.

Summer driving has changed a lot.  State law says driver ed classes must be longer than 35 days, so we have adjusted our schedule to fit that.

Session 4 and Session 5 (Summer) has a mandatory parent meeting on June 3rd. Classes will start on June 11, 12th(afternoon finals week)  and end on July 20th.  Students will attend class every day (Monday-Thursday) in the morning and then drive every other day during their scheduled drive times.  July 4th and 5th are scheduled off.

ATTENTION ATHLETES AND ACTIVITIES PARTICIPANTS!

If you participate in afterschool activities or sports and want to take Driver Ed with a more flexible schedule and work around SOME schedules for the driving, contact Mr. Gardenhire.  This class would start in November and contuinue through the holiday break.  
This class is tentative and must meet a minimum number of students to move forward.  You will need a written verification of activity participation from your coach or advisor to join this class.  This can be any fall, winter, or spring sport / activity.  

Times:

Sessions 1, 2, 3
During the school year, Classroom times are 3:30-6:00 Monday and Wednesday.  These may vary due to instructor availability and "day job" status.

Driving times are:

1. Tuesday , from 3:30-6:30 pm.
2. Thursday, from 3:00-6:00 pm.
3. Friday from 3:00-6:00 pm.
4. Saturday from 8am-11pm
   
5. Sunday from 8am-11am

The two summer session classes will be held Monday through Friday 7:30-10:00. Driving times will follow in 1.5 hour increments.

Class size:

Class size is limited to 24 students and priority for the drive time selections are based on a first come first, served basis. Students who sign up after 24, will be placed on a waiting list. Students still need to attend the parent meeting.

When to sign up:

We are currently accepting applications for all sessions and the earlier you sign up, the more choice you have when you select your driving times.

What students need to have (prerequisites):

1. Students have to live within the Gresham- Barlow School district boundary.
2. Students must have their learners permit or drivers license.

Cost:

$185 for students with their permit, $435 for those who turn 18 or have their license before program completion.
